How Do You Get To The Bottomless Pit In Kh

How to connect SSIS to an Excel 2007 via OLE DB ...

Hello everyone!

Firstly, I want to make this a BIG thank you to Radu - happy birthday ;-) - for the tip I'll present below: How to connect SSIS to an Excel 2007 via OLE DB.

Indeed, the Microsoft OLE DB Provider Jet can not connect to Excel 2007.

However, it is possible to connect to an Excel 2007 workbook using the Microsoft Office 12.0 Access Database Engine OLE DB Provider.
The first step is to create the OLE DB connection and to specify the provider. Then, the data source, which is obviously the file you want to use.
What seems surprising is that at this stage, the connection does not work.

You then take your little Martha and the All tab in the properties of your OLE DB connection type the value "Excel 12.0" in the extended properties ...
Oh, miracle of technology, the connection becomes operational ...
